DO I REALLY NEED A CONSULTATION?

Its strongly advised you book for a consultation to ensure it is possible to proceed with your desired service. Failure to book a consultation may lead to disappointment from not being able to proceed with your service and a 'missed appointment' fee on the day of 50% of the booking value.

HOW DO I MAKE A BOOKING?

If you would like to make a booking with me at The Hair Retreat, please note that bookings are only accepted either in person at the salon, over the phone or via online booking. DO I NEED TO BOOK IN ADVANCE? 

​

Bookings are by appointment only and must be booked in advance. I highly recommend you book your appointments well in advance and keep at least 2 - 3 appointments ahead to ensure you get a regular appointment at a date and time that suits you.

DO I NEED A SKIN TEST? 

​

Reactions to hair colour can be serious and even life threatening. There are strict guidelines in place from colour manufacturers, insurers & industry bodies around using hair colour and i endeavour to give you peace of mind, so that you can safely enjoy your visits to the salon.

WHY DON'T YOU TEST ME EVERY TIME? 

 

I use screening questions to monitor the need for testing you before each colour service. If nothing has changed since your last skin test and we have a valid record of you having a colour service within the last 6 months, it will be safe to proceed with your service.

I HAVE BEEN COLOURING MY HAIR FOR YEARS, WHY DO I NEED A TEST?

 

One of the triggers for sensitivity and reactions to hair colour is repeated exposure over time, therefore it is important i keep monitoring you for your safety. I am committed to your safety and i use only the best products and safety methods for colouring your hair. 

 

 

HOW LONG DOES A SKIN TEST TAKE AND HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

If you are a new client you will need a consultation and skin test appointment at least 48 hours but no longer than 5 days before your colour appointment. Consultation and skin test appointments take about  20 minutes in the salon and will be done free of charge.

If you are an existing client and need an skin test to update your records, i will ask you to pop into the salon for your test which takes around 5 minutes and will be done free of charge.
